    Bird Walk: 10-11am
    Meet the Animals: 11-12:30pm

    Children's Nature Crafts:

    Enjoy a day of bird-themed programs and events at South Carolina’s No. 1 birding destination! One of the
    highlights of this event will be a free-flight live raptor demonstration by the Center for Birds of Prey at 1pm

  • Gator Gauntlet 5K (2022)

    Date: Saturday, April 2, 2022
    Time: 10am until ??

    We will be giving a special prize for the most outrageous costume! This 5K is open to everyone, from beginner runners and joggers, experienced athletes to dog walkers - all are welcome. This race is timed but you can run at your own pace. The cost to register for the Gator Gauntlet 5K is $30 and includes a race T-shirt, your park admission and registration fees. To register please go online at www.Go-GreenEvents.com. The Gator Gauntlet starts at 10 AM and check in begins at 9AM. All registered runners will receive a race series T-Shirt, souvenirs and be eligible for door and top place finisher prizes. All proceeds for the 5K will go towards trail improvements at Huntington Beach State Park.

    Date: May 14 & 15, 2022

    Never been tent camping? Stay overnight with a park ranger who will help you set-up your tent and teach cooking and camping secrets. Families will learn how to go crabbing, pull a seine net, paddle a kayak, and much more! Campers will be provided with a list of food items to bring with them to be prepared at their campsite. A limited number of tents and air mattresses are available to borrow if you don't have your own. Fee: $50 per family.   • The 47th Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival (2022)

    Date: September 23 - 25, 2022

    ADMISSION:
    Daily admission for the festival is $10 per adult (age 16 and older).  
    Admission may be purchased at the
    festival gate in the park.

    FESTIVAL HOURS:
    Friday, Sept. 23 - gates open at noon and close at 5 p.m.
    Saturday, Sept. 24 - gates open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m.
    Sunday, Sept. 25 - gates open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m.

    Featuring over 100 of the finest artisans, the Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival provides aesthetic beauty against a background of natural beauty. Enjoy fine art, quality crafts and local food, along with the musical offerings of several of the area’s finest musicians.

    Well, here is your chance! Activities include s’mores & ghost stories by the campfire, a tour of the house, a scavenger hunt, a nighttime beach walk, morning wildlife walk, and
    much more. Dinner and breakfast are included. $50/adult, $30/children ages 7-15.

Anyone can help the Friends achieve their goal by becoming a Volunteer or making a monetary donation.
